Uploading a Photo

1. Be sure to be logged in.*

2. Mouse over Plus icon (+) in menu bar and click Upload Photo.

A "RunnerSpace Photo Uploader" box will pop up.

3. Assigning to a folder

Make a new folder - Today's date is the default name, or you can choose your own folder name.  Tip: This can be a good place to credit the photographer by creating a folder using the photographer's name (i.e. "Photos by Jill Photographer").

Add Photos to Folder - Select from albums you have already created.*

4. Categories and Folders

Required - Category

Other fields are not required, but help keep your photos organized in our system.

5. Tags

Add appropriate tags that will apply to all the photos you're uploading (i.e. photos from the Oregon Relays can be tagged Oregon-Relays or Hayward-Field as they will apply to all of the photos.)

6. Attach to Profiles

This is where you attach your photos to an event, group, or profile (i.e. photos from the Oregon Relays can be attached to the Oregon Relays event site).  Type in Oregon Relays and a dropdown list of possible matches will appear.  Select your event from that list and it will appear in the list of pages you are attaching your photos to.  You can attach to more than one page at a time (i.e. if all your photos from the Oregon Relays are of the South Eugene track team, attach your photos to South Eugene as well).  After reviewing your photos, we will approve them and they will appear on the pages you've attached them to.  Attaching your photos to other pages is important in spreading your video beyond your own profile and sharing it with the running community.  You can be a vital part of community event coverage just by attaching your photos to pages we have already created - most meets, races, groups, teams, etc. have already been created in our system!  If you're attaching to your own event (one that you have created and are the administrator for the page) and you have photos from your official meet photographer - you can check the "Post As" box in the attachment window after selecting your event so your photos will appear to have been posted by your event.

7. Choose Files

Click Choose Files after selecting a Category and a Finder window will pop up.

Select the photos you would like to upload and click Open.  You can select more than one at a time.  Hint: you can select all the files in the folder your photos were saved to and even if some videos were saved in the same file, our uploader will skip those files showing "Error: Filetype not allowed" but will upload all the photos in that folder.

When these files are finished uploading an "Uploading Finished" box will pop up.

From here you can add more photos or finish by exiting the uploader.  Your photos will appear on your profile the pages you've attached them to (after being reviewed and approved by RunnerSpace staff if attached to a page you are not an editor of).
